Introduction & Overview Training (1 Day)

Course Description	This 1 day course is aimed to improve safety within the aviation Industry and specifically provide company employees with: a good understanding of how organisations manage safety, and why, and how, an SMS will improve this, an understanding of their own roles and responsibilities within an SMS and how they can contribute to improving safety performance, the knowledge and motivation to allow them to assist with SMS implementation and ongoing improvement in safety performance. Program Objective: Understand the role of the regulator and specifically SMS regulatory requirements. Understand why accidents occur and what measures are taken to prevent accidents. Be able to describe an SMS and how it works. Understand the concept of System safety and know their safety responsibilities within the System. Be clear about the setting and use of safety goals, and their place within the organisation’s and State’s safety programmes. Understand the importance of behaviour in maintaining a positive safety culture. be able to contribute effectively to improving company safety performance.
