Composite / Metal Bond Part II - Basic Composite Repair for Technicians
Course Description
This course readies the trainee with Composite / Metal Bond Part I training, or previous practical experience, to perform composite repairs. It is a combination of lecture and practical hands-on exercises in which students practice making composite repairs to carbon ( graphite ), fiberglass and Kevlar. This course satisfies ATA 104 Level IV objectives.
Program Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
Identify the flow sequence, repair options, facilities and materials.
Manage cure cycles, do taper sanding and locate ply boundaries and orientations.
Perform a practical composite repair, including wet lay-up, prepreg, thermocouple placement, curing and core replacement.
Use specialized equipment such as the Heatcon and the Applied Heat Hot Bond Repair Consoles.
Who Should Attend
Technicians, Inspectors, Engineers as well as individuals who need basic knowledge and skills relating to repairs to Aircraft Composite Structures.
Upon Completion
Successful graduates will be issued with a Certificate of Training jointly awarded by Alteon Training LLC and Mil-Com Aerospace Training Center.
Entry Requirements
Preferably those who have completed Composite / Metal Bond Part I or equivalent.
