Course Description |
The 6 weeks Flight Operations Management - Level 2 (FOM-2) is a dispatcher certification course. Students learn about the specific duties and responsibilities of the flight operations officer (dispatcher) and become candidates for FAA dispatcher certification. Students graduate with an in-depth knowledge of commercial aviation dispatch procedures, work rules, local and international regulations and the use of sophisticated electronic flight planning systems and weather software. FOM-2 meets ICAO Level 3 expertise criteria set forth in the ICAO Training Manual for Flight Operations Officers and Dispatchers, Part D-3.
Program Objectives
Teaches students the theoretical and applied requirements specified by the dispatchers licence criteria, duties and responsibilities of the dispatcher with an in-depth knowledge of commercial aviation dispatch procedures, work rules, local and international regulations and the use of sophisticated electronic flight planning systems, flight following and weather software.

Who Should Attend |
AOC staff who wish to advance to the position of a flight operations officer; individuals and aviation new-hires who wish to obtain advanced education, training, and an FAA dispatchers certificate.

Upon Completion |
Successful candidate will received a certificate jointly issued by Mil-Com Aerospace Training Center and Jeppesen.

Entry Requirements |
2 years experience by a FOO/FD in any one or combination of 1 year experience in the capacities specified below :
- Flight crew member in an air transportation;
- Meteorologist in an organization dispatching aircraft in air transportation;
- Air Traffic controller or technical supervisor of flight operations officers or air transportations flight operations systems;
- Assistant in the dispatching of air transport aircraft;
- Load Control Officers with min. one year experience;
NOTE: Some students may be required to take the Flight Operations Language Lab prior to enrolling in L2 training if their English skills do not meet entrance requirements.
