Course Description |
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) introduced Singapore Airworthiness Requirement SAR Part 66 (SAR-66) in January 2006 which will replace the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence granted under SAR 7. The Category B1.1 licence issued under SAR-66 permits the holder to issue certificate of release to service for work done on aircraft structure, airframe and engine systems. In addition, the holder can also certify for work done on electrical systems and the replacement of avionic line replaceable units that only require simple tests to prove their serviceability.
To qualify for the removal of technical limitations as applicable to Category and Rating from a SAR 66 Category B1 basic licence, the holder must successfully complete a basic conversion course that bridges the shortfall in basic knowledge and basic practical experience requirement between SAR 7 categories A & C basic examination syllabi and the SAR-66 full category B1.
