News Releases Mil-Com Aerospace Training Center and Royal Brunei Engineering "pooled" resources 2006, April 18 Singapore: Mil-Com Aerospace Training Center and Royal Brunei Engineering "pooled" resources to provide aircraft type and engineering training to the aviation industry. Singapore Mil-Com Aerospace Training Center (MATC) and Royal Brunei Engineering Sdn Bhd (RBEng) have the pleasure in announcing the signing of a strategic collaborative agreement today to enhance, complement and strengthen their aviation training capabilities and capacity in Asia for the purpose of offering comprehensive and competitive aircraft type courses to the aviation industry. Following the MOU signed in June 2005 this agreement provides a shared and joint effort in conducting OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Boeing approved and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Airbus aircraft type courses and serves as a timely move to make Asia the aviation training and educational hub. Elaborating on the agreement, Mil-Com Aerospace President and CEO, Mr. Eugene Lim added: "Mil-Com is very happy to work with RBEng, the engineering arm of a distinct and reputable international airline. We are confident that with this strategic collaboration we are able to pass on the cost savings to the benefit of our customers without compromising on the standard and quality of training." "In the past, society looked to single institutions to meet education needs. But we're now living in a world where complex issues go beyond the capacity of a single organisation and must be addressed by several institutions where power and resources must be shared" commented by Mr. Haji Hassan Tengah, Director of Engineering for RBEng. Mr. Tengah further explained, "For Royal Brunei Engineering to compete in the global marketplace, all education must commit to collaboration and partnerships. We will be working with Mil-Com Aerospace and other higher education providers, public and private, to develop a seamless educational pathway." Over the years, MATC has conducted many Boeing aircraft type and technical courses in Asia. Boeing's 2005 Current Market Outlook forecasts that world demand for commercial airplanes between 2005 and 2024 will see additional 15,000 single-aisle, 5600 twin-aisle, 900 large aircrafts (Jumbo) and 3900 regional jet aircrafts. Training for aircraft maintenance support personnel will certainly be a great challenge and this phenomenon demands creative approach to finding the solution for the industry. With this collaboration, MATC and RBEng have started receiving more enquiries for their courses. Their first course will be delivered in a month's time.
